Money Guardians is a Brighton-based social enterprise offering a professional, tailored money management service. Our aim is to help people who are struggling to manage their day-to-day money matters.

We can help with budgeting , benefits advice, negotiating with utility companies and even pensions advice. Our teams can assist people to support themselves financially. There are varying levels of support and all can be tailored to meet your needs.

Our services include:

  • Money advice: Get free advice and help with claiming pensions and other benefits.
  • Money handling: Our unique facilities enable us to help in very practical ways, to ensure you have regular access to your cash if you are housebound.
  • Casework service: Allow us to negotiate with utility companies and other creditors.
  • Money management: Receive help setting up regular payments through your own bank account or our banking facilities if more appropriate.
  • Appointeeship: An Appointee is a person nominated by the Department of Work and Pensions to act on behalf of someone who is unable to manage their benefit affairs, for example, because of ill health.  Usually this would be a close friend or relative but where this is not possible Money Guardians can provide this help.
  • Deputy Service : We can act as Deputies, as appointed by the Court of Protection to manage the property, financial affairs and personal welfare of clients who lack the mental capacity to make decisions for themselves.

Our advisors team will consider all alternative funding options from the outset, as people accessing this service may be entitled to assistance through social care programmes.
